Ashita wo Utaou, Nippon no Arashi "Furusato"

The White Team host, Arashi, will be acting as the presenters in delivering this Tohoku support project. "Furusato" was a song that was specially produced for last year's Kouhaku. People's "feelings towards their hometowns" have grown even stronger this year, and we hope to convey them through this song. The lyricist, Koyama Kundou, has added a second verse to the existing lyrics. Also, this "Furusato" will be used as the image song of the "62th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen".


A piano that had been damaged by the tsunami was used for many years in the gymnasium of a middle school in the Fukushima prefecture. That school just so happened to be holding its graduation ceremony on the day of the earthquake. After being waterlogged and covered in sand from the earthquake-triggered tsunami, the piano underwent careful repairs under the hands of a local piano merchant and has since had its sound miraculously restored. The piano has been borrowed for this show and will be played by Arashi's Sakurai Sho-san on stage. Through this restored piano - a symbol of revival - everyone across the nation, everyone singing in this Kouhaku, and of course the members of Arashi, will come together and sing "Furusato" in a heartfelt chorus. This is a special segment that will impart the undying radiance of our hometowns, as well as our belief in the future.

A piano brought back to life over the span of half a year.
Even now, countless scars remain upon it.
But its clear timbre still resonates.
I will be performing "Furusato", keeping the feelings of Endou-san, the piano tuner, as well as the children of Fukushima in mind as I do. - Sakurai Sho -

Arashi tops Oricon yearly album ranking & music DVD ranking for 3 consecutive years

It was announced that Arashi dominated both Oricon yearly album ranking and Music DVD ranking for 2011.


The No.1 selling album in 2011 is Arashi’s “Beautiful World” which was released in July and sold 908,000 total copies.  This is the third consecutive year that Arashi has topped the Oricon yearly album chart (“All the BEST! 1999-2009” in 2009, “Boku no Miteiru Fukei” in 2010).

In addition, they are the second artist who achieved 3 consecutive yearly #1 albums in 20 years after Matsutoya Yumi made the record during 1989 ~ 1991.  For a male artist, Inoue Yosui previously made the record for toping Oricon’s yearly album chart for 2 consecutive years (in 1974 ~ 1975).  However, this year, Arashi beat Inoue’s record with their 3 consecutive years #1s.


Not only the album chart, but Arashi also topped the Music DVD chart for 3 consecutive years with their live DVD “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR ‘Scene’ ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fukei~ STADIUM“, released back in January (“5×10 All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009” in 2009, “ARASHI Anniversary Tour 5×10” in 2010).  Moreover, “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR ‘Scene’ ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fukei~ STADIUM” sold 793,000 copies making it the best selling music DVD ever for Oricon’s DVD ranking history, which started in 1999.  The No.2 best selling music DVD  is also Arashi’s, their “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR ‘Scene’ ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fukei~ DOME+”  DVD (released in June) sold 673,000 copies.

The sum of Arashi’s sales for music DVDs was 10,170,000,000 yen leading to a #1 ranking in the music DVD sales category as well.  In total, the group topped 4 categories this year.


But it seems Arashi have to be satisfied for their 2 singles which only ranked on No.6 "Lotus" sold 625,935 copies and No.7 "Meikyu Love Song" sold 614,131 copies for best selling single in 2011.

Sound Equipment Failure Reveals Japanese Boy Band’s Atrocious Singing

A few days ago, Fuji TV aired a 2011 music special that included live performances of some of the year’s most popular songs. When boy band Arashi took the stage, there was some kind of technical trouble. Instead of the CD-like quality of the other groups’ performances, audiences were given a taste of some raw audio:

Some internet conspiracy theorists have pointed out the lack of technical trouble during K-pop performances as proof of Fuji TV’s devious plot to promote Korean culture. They believe that Fuji TV intentionally screwed up Arashi’s microphones, while allowing the Korean artists to lip sync…

Just because of the trouble that come in the performance that night...
*whereas it can be happened to every artist, right???
the writer judging Arashi as an incapable artist who just "sell" their good looks faces without any quality of vocal ability... how come he/she said like that???


Have he/she watch their other live performances???? Did Arashi sing badly???
How about concert???? Impossible they use all lip-sync during the concert...


If his/her judgement was true....so how Arashi can exist until their 12th anniversary???? Just because of good looks??? Are you serious??? There are many-many new generation of Ikemen (good-looking man) in Johnny's Entertainment and other talent agency in Japan during Arashi's career....


How an "atrocious singing boyband" never missed to release more than 2 single a year, one album a year, had already released the 3rd best album, always occupy the top position on Oricon Chard Japan, get many award, and get an opportunity to be the only artist which hold a concert in Kokuritsu National Stadium during the 4th years in a row that lasts for 3 days... and many other achievement of Arashi that I'm not able to mention one by one...

FNS Kayōsai Rumour

Today I get a surprising fact about an accident of Arashi on FNS Kayōsai's stage... I don't want to believe it actually...
*it's really really make me sad, disappointed, and angry... :(
But even if this info was true... I hope the suspect will get a fair replies from his actions...


In the top of popularity, sometimes celebrities would face rumours that threaten their reputation. As a public figure they must be have many fans and probably anti-fans... like a philology said that 

" higher the tree, the greater wind that blows"

But as Arashi-fans, I really proud of them surely...

no matter how bad the rumour about them, 

I still love them because Arashi is Arashi that I know from the beginning of debut until now...

The storm is never ever changed by anything...

Hello everyone,

Did you happen to watch FNS Kayousai? Or even if you haven’t, I am sure you are aware of the problem that happened while Arashi was singing Meikyu Love song. I would like to tell you about this problem that I heard.

My dance friend’s mother’s friend’s sister works as a camera man. She was an assistant at the FNS Kayousai. Her, being a fan of Arashi, went to go watch Arashi on the monitor backstage. As soon as everyone heard Arashi singing, backstage was full of panick. These reasons are:

1. Nino’s mic wasn’t turned on in the beginning, until the staff went to go turn it on. 
2. Ohno-kun’s mic was not on at all times except his solo. 
3. They were supposed to have the earphones in their ears for the rhythm, but they didn’t have them for some reason.

The staff were desperately trying to find the cause for this problem. Finally, they made a conclusion that it was a trap. Have you guys heard? Last year, when it was announced that Arashi would be the host for Kouhaku, there was a weird article that had fake information about Arashi. The problem at FNS Kayousai is not the first time.

It seems that Arashi knew it was a trap. Yet, they continued to sing Meikyu Love Song with a smile.

Hearing that, it made me cry for many reasons. That there are people who do this to Arashi. That Arashi had such a hard time. That Arashi still continued to happily sing. 

I know the reason why I am in perfect happiness right now.

It is all thanks to Arashi.

FNS, sound people say, Arashi plan to do mix live singing and recoding sound. as to add on CD sound, this volume of voice and vocal come close to CD sound. but as orchestra mistook, they did flying start, that’s why mix doesn’t some along. as this can’t get out of tune. they had to sing themselves. as ear monitor and microphone voice were prepared assuming mix, volume of voice was quiet. as volume of microphone of each members are different. main part’s Ohno-kun voice hardly came in, as he didn’t have ear monitor, he can’t get right key. this came so bad. if you don’t have ear monitor, you can’t sing in such spacious place. this is true, as this time as we mistook, this came live voice. and they didn’t have ear monitor, and orchestra sound is too loud, microphone sound is quiet, this came to the condition any artist can’t sing properly. but I think they finished singing in such condition. this is truth.  however some says bad condition of mic, this is actually excuse of us. however Arashi was not complete live their voice singing but not lip-sync.

Regarding this situation, Fuji TV apologize to all the member of Arashi 

about the accident on stage last night

Each artist definitely have had bad experiences and accidents on the stage. 

But the most important is how they were able to continue the show until the end professionally. And it happened with Arashi. Although perhaps that night they were disappointed because 

they could not show they were best performances, but they were still standing, smiling, and dancing with all their energy to the song "Meikyuu Love Song" finished. 

Even they no try to blame the Fuji TV. Arashi is kind and wise right?! 

I also believe another artist that come that night must be amazed for everything that Arashi had done. Arashi deserves a standing applause, doesn't they??? ^ ^

As a boy band, I think, the name Arashi "Storm" is appropriate to be given to them. 

Because no matter how big the barriers and obstacles in front of there, 

them, Arashi will still be standing strong unbeatable ...!!! Rock Storm!!!!!!!!!!!

This accident makes me love Arashi much more than before
