This "Talent Power Ranking" is a ranking carried out by Architect Ltd., which involves surveying for "degrees of recognition (knowing both name and face)" and "degrees of interest (wanting to see, know, and hear more)", as well as compiling numerous data to calculate "Talent Power Scores". The subjects in question are actors, comedians, musicians, athletes, and announcers, totalling 1,196 names.
Within the top 1,000 in the rankings, the following list consists of the 10 highest names:
1. Arashi (2)
2. The Southern All-Stars (3)
3. Matsushima Nanako (42)
4. Beat Takeshi (8)
5. Ayase Haruka (11)
6. Fukuyama Masaharu (1)
7. Abe Hiroshi (22)
8. Akashiya Sanma (7)
9. SMAP (15)
10. Ichiro (5)
※ The numbers within the brackets are their rankings from the previous year.
Gracing the top spot is Arashi, who had previously occupied #2 for two consecutive years. In terms of Johnny's influence, #9 is SMAP, #15 is Sakurai Sho (Arashi), #28 is Aiba Masaki (Arashi), #30 is Ohno Satoshi (Arashi), #31 is Ninomiya Kazunari (Arashi), #41 is Matsumoto Jun (Arashi), #45 is Katori Shingo (SMAP), #49 is TOKIO, #66 is Kimura Takuya (SMAP), Kokubun Taichi (TOKIO) and Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (SMAP). In that order, even individually speaking, Arashi's momentum has quite clearly taken shape.
While the Southern All Stars are currently on hiatus, they were still able to rise in ranking to #2. In regards to this phenomenon, the magazine analyses it as such: "Awareness of the group was heightened largely in part due to their leader Kuwata Keisuke's proactive involvement in Japan's great earthquake disaster, for which he produced a charity song and also held a concert in Miyagi".
At #3, Matsushima Nanako's score rose as a result of resuming full blown activities in acting with her roles in "Kaseifu no Mita" (NTV), which achieved a viewer rating record, followed by "Lucky Seven" (Fuji TV) which aired on Mondays at 9 PM. [T/N: Mondays at 9, better known as getsu9, is a primetime slot that is highly coveted]
Not only does the "Nikkei Enta! June issue" include the collective trends in the top 100, it also analyses "Talent Power" from different angles, with rankings for "Talents of interest to the teens and 20s", "Top 30 actresses", "Top 30 actors", "Top 30 talents", and talent power growth rates for the top 50 names.
